The proposed Ashwood Pointe development, an 88-acre, 238 single-family lot subdivision, would be located in an area west of 248th Avenue and south of Wolf's Crossing Road in far southwest Naperville.

Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission recently unanimously gave a positive recommendation to plans for the residential development, which is being proposed by Schaumburg-based Pulte Home Corporation.

Home sizes within the development would range from 2,000 to roughly 3,600 square feet.

Preliminary landscaping plans call for a bike path along 248th Avenue, parkway trees as well as a 30-foot-wide buffer consisting of a wood fence, berms and extensive landscaping along 248th Avenue.

Plute Home Corporation is also proposing to rezone the current property to allow for smaller lot sizes, setbacks and "more affordable homes" compared to nearby Ashwood Creek and Ashwood Park, according to the city.

Before City Council votes on the final subdivision plat Tuesday night, a public hearing on the proposed development will be held.

Tuesday's City Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Naperville Municipal Center.
