Lightning Strikes South Naperville Home Twice

Firefighters respond to Naperville's Ashbury neighborhood after lightning strikes home.

No one was injured after two separate lightning strikes hit a southeast Naperville home Wednesday night.

Naperville firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire around 7:58 p.m. Wednesday at 3212 Landore Dr. in the city's Ashbury neighborhood.

The homeowners said they called 911 after neighbors told them two lightning strikes had hit the roof of the home during Wednesday's severe weather.

No smoke or fire was visible, according to the homeowners, however, the lightning strikes left two holes in the roof of the home.

After inspection by officials, the homeowners said they were able to safely go back inside the home.

Firefighters remained on scene for about 20 minutes after the call came in.

Estimated damage is unknown at this time.
