I have been a freelance writer for about 18 years, writing primarily for local and regional newspapers,  magazines and Internet sites. I also create newsletters and marketing materials for small businesses and  not-for-profits.  I've won writing awards including two from the Illinois Press Association for Best in the Press. 

Originally from the Milwaukee area,  I graduated from Bradley University with a degree in Marketing, and have lived in Chicago and the suburbs ever since. I've lived in Downers Grove for sixteen years with my husband of 26 years and my three great children.
