Hilary Decent, Neighbor

Naperville's favorite British journalist Hilary Decent moved to the Midwest from England in 2007. She wanted to be a writer from the age of five when she won five bars of chocolate for writing about a film on cocoa beans shown in school. This led to a life long passion for writing, movies and chocolate, not necessarily in that order.

Coming from London, Hilary sees Naperville as a small town with a big heart. Her unique perspective shines through in everything she writes as a humorist, news reporter and blogger.

If you've read any Naperville publication, the chances are you've seen her byline. She currently writes news and Naperville Women for the Naperville Sun, Happy with Grumpy for Glancer Magazine and Naperville: Funny Side Up for Glancer's Naperville On Line Weekly. She had a regular column in Positively Naperville has written features for Naperville Magazine. 

Hilary is also a proud member of Naperville Rotary Club. A self-professed drama queen, she is passionate about the arts, has written and directed a musical, comedy scripts and far too many egocentric bios ...
