A storm system could bring snow and 45 to 50 MPH wind gusts to the Midwest this Thursday.
For Naperville residents, things could start to look a lot like winter this week. A strong snow strom, expected to arrive Thursday, may put an end to the Chicago area's record-breaking snowless streak. With more snow expected overnight, we could set a record for February snowfall.
Local weather guru Tom Skilling says we may set a snow record for February. More snow is on the way, according to forecasters and with the next few inches we could surpass a 115-year-old record, so says Skilling. The warm weather a few weeks ago was enough of a reminder that spring will soon be here soon but it may not be here fast enough. Overnight it’s forecasted that we will get another 3 to 5 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. Along with snow, strong winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected, which could cause blowing and drifting snow, according to the National Weather Service. Snow could accumulate at more than an inch an hour.
