Man Indicted in Naperville Stabbing Death Pleads Not Guilty

Daniel Olaska, 27, charged in the stabbing death of a Naperville teacher pleaded not guilty on all counts.

The Naperville man charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Spring Brook Elementary School teacher Shaun Wild has pleaded not guilty on all charges. Monday morning Daniel Olaska appeared before Judge Kathryn Kreswell where with his attorney Brian Telander he entered his plea of not guilty on all charges. Last week, a grand jury indicted Olaska on 14 counts, including seven counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of armed violence and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.   Olaska is being held without bond in the DuPage County Jail. What on earth do you think is likely going on during the more than a year he has spent in jail? A bunch of lawyers are making their living finding his most fair fate. Cases like this don't go quickly. Someone is dead and it was as a result of actions from a person that was not trying to kill him.   more ›

Judge Delays Bond Decision for Man Charged in Naperville Bar Stabbing

Daniel J. Olaska will appear before the court again March 2 after defense attorneys were given time to process additional video and photo evidence they received this week. Olaska is currently being held on $3 million bond.

Attorneys for the man accused of stabbing three men at a downtown Naperville bar earlier this month asked a DuPage County judge Friday to delay a request to increase or revoke his bond to allow evaluation of new evidence they've received. Bond was set at $3 million earlier this month for Daniel J. Olaska, 27, of the 1500 block of Fox Hill Drive in Naperville. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder after a fight at Frankie's Blue Room early Feb. 4. Naperville elementary teacher Shaun Wild died as a result of his injuries. Prognosis Positive for Lemont Native Willie Hayes After Bar Attack

The North Central College senior was discharged from Edward Hospital on Monday after being stabbed early Saturday morning in a Naperville bar fight that killed his friend and former teammate, Shaun Wild.

Bond Set at $3M for Man Charged In Naperville Fatal Bar Stabbing

In determining bond, the judge said Daniel J. Olaska of Naperville is a danger to the community due to the severity of the crime.

Bond was set at $3 million Sunday morning for the Naperville man charged in the stabbing death of an elementary school teacher and the injury of two others at Frankie's Blue Room early Saturday morning. Daniel J. Olaska, 27, of the 1500 block of Fox Hill Drive, was charged Saturday afternoon with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the attack that left 24-year-old Shaun Wild dead, Lemont native Willie Hayes in serious condition at Edward Hospital, and bar bouncer Raphael Castaneda injured. Man Charged with Murder After Attack at Naperville Bar

Shaun Wild, a teacher at Spring Brook Elementary School, died of injuries sustained during a stabbing Saturday morning. A former Lemont High School student who now attends North Central College was also seriously injured in the incident.

A Naperville man has been charged in the stabbing death of an elementary school teacher and the injury of two others at a local bar Saturday morning, authorities said. Daniel J. Olaska, 27, of the 1500 block of Fox Hill Drive, was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the attack that left 24-year-old Shaun Wild dead and two others seriously injured, said DuPage County State's Attorney's Office Spokesman Paul Darrah.
