Naperville police offer tips to help reduce the likelihood of falling victim to vehicle burglars.
Local police are asking residents to be on their guard when it comes to vehicle burglaries because in many cases, break-ins can be prevented. "The Naperville Police Department needs the help of the public in reducing the chances of vehicle burglaries occurring," stated a recent news release issued by the department. "(There are) a few simple guidelines to prevent or reduce the likelihood that your vehicle will become a target of crime …" Since January, there have been almost 450 vehicle burglaries reported in Naperville and nearly 50 of those occurred during September, police said.
