A Naperville man caught speeding last April, hoping to have sex with a woman he liked, pleaded guilty Thursday to reckless driving, Chicago Tribune reports. A story in the Daily Herald on April 27, 2012 said Ramirez was in a hurry because he was hoping to have sex with a girl he liked. Driving along 75th Street Tuesday, Naperville Police are asking that driver’s go with the flow and enjoy the ride and for safety's sake, don't put the pedal to the metal. The Naperville Police Department will be holding a “Speed Awareness Day” along the 75th Street corridor to increase safety through enforcement and education, according to the Naperville Police Department. “Our efforts will concentrate on speed and following too closely violations as well as other noted safety violations,” said Cmd. Mike Anders in a news release. A number of law enforcement agencies will be participating in the the increased patrols of Route 59 from Will County to Cook County.
Buckle up, keep your eyes on the road and your speed in check if you are travelling on Route 59 Wednesday. The Naperville Police Department along with several other police and law enforcement agencies will be patrolling the Route 59 corridor from Will County to Cook County seeking out traffic violators, the Naperville Police Department said. The initiative is meant to increase safety for those using Route 59, which will include traffic enforcement and education, according to the department. A 25-year-old male reported that between 7:30 and 7:43 a.m. a passenger failed to pay a $20.80 cab fare, police said. Someone in the 800 block of N. Mill Street reported that between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7:56 a.m. Tuesday about 4 tons of scrap metal was stolen from a job site. The metal was valued at about $20,000, police said.
