SheROX Triathlon Closing Streets Sunday Morning

Drivers should be aware that some city streets will be closed until about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

From the city of Naperville The city of Naperville reminds residents and interested parties of the upcoming street closures and parking restrictions that will be in effect throughout the SheROX Triathlon taking place at 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 10. The triathlon starts and ends at Centennial Beach near downtown Naperville, with the event consisting of a .5-mile swim, 14.2-mile bike and 3.1-mile run. A color-coded map of the race route, times and locations of street closures, parking restrictions and tow-away zones is available at www.naperville.il.us/walkrun.aspx. The map requires Adobe Acrobat reader to view. The triathlon route streets will be closed beginning at approximately 6 a.m. and remain closed until approximately 11:30 a.m. Roads …

SheROX Triathlon Rolls Through Town

Series hits Naperville on Sunday as more than 1,400 women compete in the swim-bike-run race.

Lifetime Fitness director of events Nick Lynch puts together races across the country but there are few places he enjoys coming to more than Naperville. Lynch was the event director for Sunday’s SheROX Naperville Triathlon, a sprint-distance triathlon for women. He watched as upward of 1,600 participants, approximately 300 of whom were from Naperville, competed in near-perfect conditions. “This city is unique, because they really do buy into the event,” Lynch said of the event, which has been known by many different names in its 14-year existence. “The city is behind it, they promote it. There is a similar event in August that is Co-Ed. This SHErox event is wonderful and goes towards a great cause. The reason that I choose to do this race with WOMEN ONLY is because it was my first triathlon. In a coed atmosphere, men do tend to be a little bit more aggresive/competative.
