As we prepare to welcome in 2012 and whatever the New Year will bring, we are going to take a moment to reflect on 2011 and the stories that were some of the most read on Naperville Patch. The off-price retailer had shoppers waiting at its door Friday morning as it opened for a soft launch, according to a store official.
A crowd of shoppers gathered outside the doors of Ross Dress for Less Friday morning as it opened its doors in preparation of its grand opening Saturday. The retailer is opening 12 stores this weekend in the Chicago market, it’s largest launch ever, according to a company official. Ross Dress for Less is an off-price retailer that offers items for women, men, children as well as home and bath. The store even offers pet items, said Fred Shuey, Ross’ regional vice president. Items are offered at 20 percent to 60 percent off department store prices. Shuey said the store offers “no frills and big thrills.” The big thrills come from what shoppers may be surprised to find on the racks. “We work very hard to pass the savings on to shoppers,” …

Discount retailer will open 12 stores in Chicago suburbs this fall.
A new discount retailer is moving into the Chicago area and will soon be opening a store in Naperville. Ross Dress for Lesswill open this fall in the Naperwest Plaza along Route 59. The chain is one of the largest discount retailers in the country, with more than 1,000 stores in 27 states, according to the Ross website. Ross will be opening 12 stores in the Chicago suburbs, creating about 600 jobs. An Oct. 8 grand opening is planned for the Naperwest Plaza store, according to a news release from Ross. In anticipation of its grand opening, it will begin accepting online job applications Aug. 15. Enjoy your visit to Ross. They sell the same imported junk as everybody else. If you find clothing made in the USA there, you need glasses or somebody's lying. Another store that just opened across Aurora Ave (Gordman's) is also an outlet for Chinese made goods.
