The no.1 spot (a mediterranean garbage pit) is the absolutely worst. And a sushi establishment -- that is not food either. I can't stand that kind of stuff they call food. Give me good American food at a fine restaurant. Absolutely none of these belong in the top 10. Some of them are so-so, but certainly not top 10 RESTAURANTS in Naperville.   more ›

Wine Drinkers Rejoice: Cooper's Hawk Planning Summer Opening

Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants broke ground on its Naperville location in mid-February.

Restaurant-goers who love wine will have another option for fine dining in the city when Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants completes construction on its north Naperville location later this summer. While the location will be similar in concept to the company’s other locations, the Naperville restaurant will have the winery’s largest tasting bar yet, with a special separate round tasting bar to accommodate larger groups, according to Cooper’s Hawk Founder and CEO Tim McEnery. Ground was broken on the location on Freedom Drive in mid-February and construction is on track for a summer 2011 opening, McEnery said in an e-mail. The restaurant is located near Maggiano’s Little Italy, The White Chocolate Grill and Morton’s The Steakhouse. “We …

Bites Nearby: Eggsperience Breakfast

After rushing all week, try a tasty place where someone else makes you breakfast--or lunch.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. At least that is what the experts say.  While most days are a rush to get ready and out the door, why not take some time to relax and let someone else do the cooking. That is what weekends are for, right? At Eggsperience Pancakes and Café breakfast is the thing, although you can have lunch if you want. Whether you are seeking some pancakes, like the berry berry pancakes, which sound delectable or the oven-baked apple pancake, which sounds dangerous, something made of eggs, whether frittatas, omelets or scrambled, this place has it covered. Those seeking more healthy options can choose from oatmeal, fresh fruit or whole-grain pancakes.

The Local Dish

Kuma's Brings Asian Fusion to Downtown Naperville

From Vietnamese to Thai, Kuma's offers a variety of Asian-inspired cuisine.

The building sat dormant on busy Washington Street for years, almost begging for someone to step up and rent the space. Kuma Kim answered the challenge with Kuma's Asian Bistro, bringing a new restaurant with flair and Asian fusion to downtown Naperville. Described as a home of contemporary Asian cuisine, the eatery features a wide- ranging menu of Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai dishes with a surprising fusion of Spanish-Korean Paella added for good measure. In the middle of a restaurant row, Kuma's opened this past summer at 216 S. Washington St., in the long block between Jackson and Jefferson. Kuma's strives to have something for everyone. Diners are asked to talk with their server about food allergies, and there are entries that …
