Last Chance: American English Performs Concert for a Cause

DuPage Habitat for Humanity Women Build Initiative will benefit from funds raised at Friday night's concert.

The closest thing Beatles fans can get to the real thing is American English. The well-known Beatles’ tribute band is playing a concert for a cause this weekend. American English will be performing Friday night at Pfeiffer Hall in support of the DuPage Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Initiative. The initiative seeks to encourage the involvement of women in building Habitat homes, according to DuPage Habitat for Humanity. Locally, a number of sustainable townhomes will be built in Glen Ellyn. Funds raised through the concert will be used toward the local Women Build Initiative. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and WLS radio show host Dave Fogel will be the event’s master of ceremonies. Last Chance: Limited Supply of Air Supply Tickets Remain

Air Supply will be bringing its romantic songs to North Central College's Pfeiffer Hall Saturday. Only a few tickets remain.

All Out of Love? Lost in Love? Don’t make love out of nothing at all, share it with an audience. They were big in the 1980s and soon they will be full of love and making music in Naperville. Air Supply will be performing some of the bands greatest hits at North Central College Saturday, but tickets are running out. Only a few seats remain. The duo of Graham Russell and Russell are celebrating 36 years together with the release of Mumbo Jumbo, its first studio-recording in eight years. A limited number of tickets remain for the show, which will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall. Ticket prices range from $25 to $50. Patch Picks: North Central College's Cornerstone Week

The college will kick of its 150th Anniversary next week with a number of events.

North Central College is celebrating its sesquicentennial this year. Since a 150th Anniversary only comes along once, the college has a wide variety of events planned throughout the year that will be tied to the celebration. Next week marks the College’s Cornerstone Week, when the festivities begin and the college goes full-tilt into party mode. From walking tours, to musical performances, locals have the opportunity to take advantage of the town-gown relationship. At NCC, Arts Season Looks Finer Than Fine

Ambitious productions and big-name artists highlight the fine arts season at North Central College.

Jared Grebner has a lot to live up to. This fall, the North Central College senior is directing "The Mousetrap," a beloved mystery by Agatha Christie. It's a play that's been performed continuously in London since 1952, making it the longest running show of the modern era. "I just hope it's going to be an all-inclusive theater experience," he said, adding that the murder mystery has a campy, British-flavored humor.  Fine arts coordinators said the play — part of the student-directed series — is one of more than 150 performances, art gallery exhibits, theater events and musical guests to be featured during the 2010-2011 academic year at NCC.  "This is our biggest season to date," said Ted Slowik, a spokesman for the college.
