Turkey Trot draws thousands for the Naperville Noon Lions annual Thanksgiving Day run.
The sun may have been hiding, but that didn't matter much to the more than 7,000 runners who showed up at Naperville Central Thursday morning ready to run. The Naperville Noon Lions Turkey Trot was sold out and 7,700 runners registered for the race, said Paul Rewerts of the Noon Lions. He said things went pretty well, except there were more runners than T-shirts and some racers didn't get their shirt this year. Money raised from the 5K race goes toward programs to help those with sight and hearing disorders, diabetes as well as those in need in the Naperville area.
