A Quest Can Get You Moving

When life gets busy, exercise is the first thing this Naperville mom takes off her plate.

When I get busy, sadly, the first thing I tend to cut from my life is exercise. It's easy to let go. When my kids were younger, I would try running or taking classes at a local gym. I'd get into a groove that felt good. My goal, usually, is to run three or four miles without it sucking. I'm generally inspired enough to reach it.                 Then, the kids get sick, or I get busy with freelance work, or the holidays are around the corner. I stop for a week or two. It might stretch into three … or more. And then, I have to start over. I hate going through the suckiness of getting back in shape.
