60-Day Suspension for Will County Judge who Viewed Porn at Work

The Illinois Courts Commission called Judge Joseph Polito's use of work hours to view sex sites an "inexcusable waste of judicial time."

While people do develop addictions to alcohol, drugs and pornography, the commission wrote that Judge Joseph Polito's decision to do engage in porn viewing while at work was an "inexcusable waste of judicial time that should have been spent on available judicial duties,” according to a story in the Chicago Sun-Times. Polito, 69, told the commission in November that he suffered from a lifelong addiction to porn, which crossed over into his work day. …

This is just completely inexcusable. Do you realize we are paying him a huge salary, and on top of that, a Illinois constitutionally mandated pension--no matter what decision is made in this case?! Ridiculous--should be out on a rail with his own self-incriminating comments!   more ›

Will County Judge Admits to On-the-Job Porn Viewing; Seeking Professional Help

Judge Joseph Polito says he watched porn on his courthouse computer before and after court sessions, even though he knew it violated county rules, published report says.

Will County Judge Joseph Polito says he watched pornography via his courthouse computer during work hours, and is now seeking help to stop his behavior, a story in the Chicago Sun-Times says. Polito made the confession in documents he filed with the Illinois Courts Commission in the wake of a Sun-Times report four months ago that his computer had been used repeatedly to view porn sites.
