North's LaCosse Keeping Options Open
Firing of Minnesota coach has Huskies' quarterback weighing his future plans.
Coming into his senior season as quarterback at Naperville North, Matt LaCosse already had given his verbal commitment to play tight end for the University of Minnesota. But while LaCosse's season has gone great, leading the Huskies into Friday's Class 8A quarterfinal game against Homewood-Flossmoor, things haven't gone so well for the Golden Gophers. Following a 1-6 start, coach Tim Brewster was fired by Minnesota on Oct. 18, putting LaCosse's intentions in question. "I'm currently still committed, but I'm looking around at other options," LaCosse said. "I'm going to take a bunch of visits once the season is over. But I'm still concentrating on this season.
