Funeral Services Announced for Former Naperville Mayor Chester Rybicki

Funeral services have been announced for former Naperville Mayor Chester "Chet" Rybicki who passed away at the age of 96 Wednesday.

Funeral services have been announced for former Naperville Mayor Chester "Chet" Rybicki, who passed away at the age of 96 Wednesday.  Former Naperville Mayor Rybicki 'Treasured Individual' Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 15 at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Interment services will be held at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Naperville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry, 1871 High Grove Lane, Naperville, IL 60540, are requested. Teachers Fondly Remember Sava Basic

Students come and go but some make a lasting impression. Basic was that kind.

Sava Basic was the kind of kid a teacher wanted in class. He was interested, engaged and a joy to be around. Knowing him as a high school student, a few of his teachers from Neuqua Valley High School remembered him fondly and were not surprised he went into public service. Basic, 26, died in an accident Jan. 30 when the car he and his wife were in left the road, struck a tree, hit a culvert and rolled. His wake and funeral services were held last weekend in Naperville. He lived in Plainfield, but worked as a police officer in Bolingbrook. Mike O’Toole is a dean of students at Neuqua Valley, but when he knew Basic, he was a history teacher, O’Toole said in a phone interview. “He had a very easy smile and a very outgoing personality,” O’…

Funeral Set for Bolingbrook Cop from Plainfield Killed in Crash

Visitation, service for Sava Basic II will be at Naperville Presbyterian Church; trust fund set up for daughter.

A funeral service for Sava Basic II, the Plainfield resident and Bolingbrook police officer killed in a car accident Sunday, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Naperville Presbyterian Church. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church, 943 Sanctuary Lane, and burial will be at the Naperville Cemetery. Basic, 26, was remembered by his family Tuesday for the qualities that made him both a good police officer and a good husband and father. “He was just a huge guy,” said Charlie Krikorian, Basic's uncle. “I mean I’m (a big guy) and he made me look like a small child in comparison.
