Jimmy's Grill Owner Poised to Take Over BlackFinn

Jimmy's Grill owner to change name, management of BlackFinn American Saloon in downtown Naperville.

A popular downtown Naperville bar will soon get a new name and clean slate. Jim Bergeron, owner of Jimmy's Grill, 254 S. Washington St., is making all of the preparations to take over BlackFinn American Saloon, a bar which has been plagued over the last year with safety issues and code violations.  Get news in your inbox. BlackFinn Brawl Leads to 6 Arrests; Investigation Ongoing: Police

Police currently investigating fight that broke out at popular downtown Naperville bar early Sunday morning.

Naperville police are currently investigating a brawl that occurred at a popular downtown bar early Sunday morning. Six people were arrested and one employee was injured after a fight broke out around 1:11 a.m. at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Ave., Sunday, according to police.  Officers were dispatched to the bar for a report of a fight in progress. Once inside, police saw "numerous subjects fighting" on the third floor of the bar, according to police.    After an investigation, police arrested Robert M. McIntosh, 25, of Plano; Tyler M. Johnson, 24, of Elgin; Adam Gregoriou, 26, of Naperville and Justin W. Field, 32, of Channahon. The four men were charged with battery and criminal damage to property, according to police. …

Woman Arrested After Fight Breaks Out at Downtown Naperville Bar: Police

Shaletta N. Thomas, 26, of Aurora, was arrested early Sunday morning around 12:38 a.m. and charged with two counts of battery and one count of obstructing a peace officer, police said.

Thomas, 26, of the 2100 block of Middlebury Drive in Aurora, was arrested early Sunday morning around 12:38 a.m. and charged with two counts of battery and one count of obstructing a peace officer. Police Seeking Information After Downtown Naperville Fight

Police are looking for more information regarding a fight that left one man injured in a downtown parking garage.

Chicago Avenue, according to a release. During the incident, two men were involved in a fight, causing one to suffer an injury, according to police. No descriptions were given and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information regarding the incident. Earlier: City Fines, Suspends BlackFinn's Liquor Permit Citing Safety Concerns The first incident occurred late Friday night around 1:06 a.m. when police responded to an altercation at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson St., between a patron and staff member, according to the Naperville Police Department. Police said the patron, Sarah Abel, 20, of the 2800 block of Dorothy Drive in Aurora, entered the bar with a false ID and was under the age of 21. Popular downtown Naperville bar agrees to make changes after admitting liquor code violations.

After a number of incidents at BlackFinn American Saloon, including a brawl in October, city officials have suspended BlackFinn’s late-night liquor permit for seven days beginning Nov. 16, according to a city press release. While meeting with city officials Nov. 5, BlackFinn admitted to four violations of the city's liquor code and voluntarily agreed to the suspension. Police: Lombard Man Charged After Stabbing BlackFinn Security Guard

A Lombard man and his Woodridge girlfriend were arrested early Sunday morning after an incident at the BlackFinn American Saloon.

A 31-year-old Lombard man was arrested early Sunday morning after police said he stabbed a bouncer at BlackFinn American Saloon. His 25-year-old girlfriend was also arrested after the altercation for obstructing justice, according to police. Adam B. Hearn, of the 900 block of South Main Street in Lombard, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and possession of a weapon by a felon—all Class 3 felonies, according to a news release from Naperville police. At 1:32 a.m. Sunday, the Naperville police responded to the downtown Naperville bar for a report of a stabbing, according to the news release.
