Fake ID Ownership More Than Triples in Recent Months: Police

Naperville police said a "new wave" of "sophisticated" fraudulent identification and driver's licenses has been on the rise.

During a recent initiative to curb underage drinking, police said they saw a 72 percent year-over-year increase in the use of fraudulent identification cards and a 380 percent increase from October 2012 through January, compared with the year prior, according to the Naperville Police Department. Police Respond to Fight, Violation at Downtown Bars

Naperville Police Department responded to two incidents, one involving a fight, at separate bars in downtown Naperville this weekend.

Earlier: City Fines, Suspends BlackFinn's Liquor Permit Citing Safety Concerns The first incident occurred late Friday night around 1:06 a.m. when police responded to an altercation at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson St., between a patron and staff member, according to the Naperville Police Department. Police said the patron, Sarah Abel, 20, of the 2800 block of Dorothy Drive in Aurora, entered the bar with a false ID and was under the age of 21. Yeah but Black Finn has become a magnet for this type of behavior. Apparently BF hires the type of bouncers troublemakers seek to challenge.
