North Central College Installs First Electric Car Charging Station

New electric car charging station can be used by students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The charging station is located in the Old Main parking lot off Loomis Street and is currently available for use. Green Technology Fuels the Future

Experts help students at Crone Middle School understand alternative fuel and green technologies.

Buying an electric vehicle has "cost benefits." The key cost: Owners have to "refill" at least 200 times before they will see a return on the investment of buying the vehicle, according to two experts. The benefit: More green vehicles on the road means less pollution. The use and benefits of green technologies were highlighted on Tuesday morning for students at Crone Middle School. After participating in research projects related to alternative energy and fuel, eighth-grade science teacher Jennifer Ferreri sought professionals to speak with her classes.
