DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced that his office will be hosting an educational and informative public seminar aimed at providing DuPage County residents with a better understanding of gangs and their presence in our communities. A DuPage County judge has sentenced Antonio Alexander, 35, of Naperville, to prison for a 2011 gas station robbery, according to authorities.
A Naperville man has been sentenced to prison Thursday for the robbery of a Naperville gas station, according a DuPage County State's Attorney press release. Antonio Alexander, 35, of the 30W 0-99 block of Valencia Court, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for stealing $83 from a cash register at Mobil Gas Station, 167 N. Rt. 59, late last year. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 15, 2011 when Alexander told the gas station clerk he had a gun in his pocket and demanded money. After the clerk gave him $83 from the register, Alexander fled the scene. Police later learned that Alexander was using his hand inside of his pocket to make it appear as if he was armed and didn't actually have a gun on him, according to the press …

A Naperville man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting two young sisters left in his care after their mother was murdered and faces a term of natural life in prison, according to a DuPage County State's Attorney press release. After a six-day trial, a DuPage County jury found Christopher Carter, 43, of the 1600 block of Brookdale, guilty on six counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of criminal sexual assault, the release said. The trial began last Tuesday, Aug. 7 before Judge George Bakalis. The jury deliberated about two hours Wednesday, finding Carter guilty of all charges. A local high school counselor and coach accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl turned himself in to authorities Wednesday morning. The DuPage County State's Attorney filed charges Tuesday against Naperville North High School staff member John Carbonaro, 33, of the 3S600 block of Melcher Avenue in Warrenville, after police said a concerned parent called the school Thursday and told the principal about a relationship Carbonaro had with a teenage student. The trial of a Naperville woman accused of collaborating on a $6 million mortgage fraud scheme will begin Jan. 18, DuPage County Circuit Judge John Kinsella announced Thursday at a status hearing. Patricia Johnson, 56, of the 100 block of Elmwood Drive in Naperville, and Pamela Williams, 57, of the 7500 block of Grant Street were indicted Oct. 12 on 55 counts related to theft charges, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office. The charges range from theft of more than $300 to theft of more than $500,000. Both women pleaded not guilty to the indictment. I live down the street and see all kinds of neighbor children in and out of their house and playing in their yard when I drive by. Now that he's a registered sex offender, is he allowed to have neighborhood children in his yard or home ? Even if other adults are present in the home ? I sure hope not.
