State's Attorney: Initiative Could Speed Up DUI Arrest Process
Officers now have the option of bringing an on-call phlebotomist to the police department to take a driver's blood to determine his or her blood alcohol content (BAC), speeding up the arrest process. DUI attorney says initiative is problematic.
Written by Charlotte Eriksen In an effort to crack down on drivers suspected of driving under the influence, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced a new protocol Tuesday that will provide law enforcement with the option of bringing in an on-call phlebotomist, someone licensed to draw blood, to speed up the process of determining a driver's BAC. Fantastic idea! And the State should pass a law ,like a few other States that one can not refuse a blood test. I'm getting tired of scum drunks getting away with murder!   more ›
