Naperville Police are seeking more information regarding criminal damage at a Naperville school. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 24 when a tree was damaged on the west side of Madison Junior High School, 1000 River Oak Dr., according to the Naperville Police Department. Police discovered that a 20-foot-tall pear tree had been purposely cut near its base, police said in a release. A neighborhood resident who told police four people were seen near the area of the school on Feb. 28 around 10:57 p.m., which is when police believe the damage to the tree took place. Police are searching for more information regarding shots being fired near a Naperville school Tuesday.
Naperville Police are investigating reports of shots being fired in the air near Madison Junior High School in east Naperville. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Fairoak Road and River Oak Drives, west of the school, which is located at 1000 River Oak Dr. Police responded to the area after reports of shots being fired in the air from a white, late-model Chevrolet pickup truck, according to the Naperville Police Department. Police said several witnesses saw a white, younger male adult fire three shots in the air from a black handgun, according to the police department. According to reports, the resident of a home in the area of Rock River Court and Washington Street left his home around 6 p.m. for approximately 15 minutes Sunday, Sept. 9. Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the burglary of the Subway Restaurant, 36 W.
