Students say farewell to the school during their graduation ceremony Sunday.
The Waubonsie Valley High School Class of 2011 bid a fond farewell to the school during a graduation ceremony on Sunday at the College of DuPage. Students gladly collected their diplomas and acknowledged fellow classmates for scholastic achievements, as well as honoring those who will serve the country in the military. Smiles, hugs and hand shakes followed— and even a few tears—as the seniors prepare to take the next step in their lives.

Powerful storms threw the graduating class a few curveballs Sunday but seniors reign supreme.
Neuqua Valley High School's Class of 2011 held commencement ceremonies at the College Of DuPage on Sunday. Seniors wearing caps and gowns filed in to the arena and were seated when warning sirens at the college went off alerting everyone to the extremely strong thunder storms and possible tornadoes. Protocol at the college required mandatory evacuation of the venue to a safer place until the storm passed. A thumbs up followed shortly to an enthusiastic graduating class, administration and attending family and friends.

The class of 2011 held its commencement ceremony on Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
For four years students look forward to the moment when they are able to grab their diploma and say farewell to high school. On Wednesday, the weather broke long enough to allow students to graduate as planned in the outdoor ceremony.

Prior to the start of the commencement ceremonies the temperature dropped and storm clouds threatened.
The Naperville North Class of 2011 commencement ceremonies were held outdoors Wednesday night in the Husky Football stadium. Minutes before the seniors filed into the stadium the temperature plunged, the wind picked up and storm clouds rolled in. The decision to hit the edit button was given and the presentation of the diplomas began immediately. After 800+ students crossed the stage and received their sheepskin, it was only a matter of time before the skies would open. All speeches were canceled and mortar boards flew into the air, as the graduating class celebrated their accomplishments.

Hi Maria, We include Naperville North news because quite a few Lisle students attend this high school. While we didn't post an album for Benet (because most of the students hail from outside the village), we'll be covering Lisle's graduation later this week. Thanks for your feedback.   more ›
