Car Crashes into Home Near Scott Elementary

A vehicle ran over two mailboxes before driving into the side of a home on Sheffield Road in south Naperville Tuesday afternoon.

A vehicle ran over two mailboxes before crashing into the side of a home just a few blocks from Scott Elementary School Tuesday afternoon.  Get news in your inbox. Sign up for the Patch newsletter. The car appeared to have been traveling westbound in the 500 block of Sheffield Road when it hit two mailboxes, drove across the lawn of a neighboring home and then slammed into the side of a garage at 512 Sheffield Rd.  The car drove through the side of the garage, shattering a window of the home and hitting another vehicle parked inside the garage.  It is unknown at this time whether the driver sustained any injuries or how many occupants where inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. My children attend Scott School, so I'd like to know the nature of an accident that took place in the neighborhood during school hours. Texting? Speeding? DUI? Coyote? Teenager? Senior Citizen?
