High School Musicians Open Ribfest

After four years AKA Foxy finally gets its shot to rock festival. Show will be band's last major performance before college.

For three years AKA Foxycompeted in the Naperville Park District’s battle of the bands but to no avail. The battle came to end on Friday. Here’s hoping your weekend goes just the way you planned. So, what do you have you planned? We have a few ideas for you. Viewfinder: Naperville Kids Rock Oswego East Battle of the Bands

Two local bands made the trip west to show Oswego East what's up.

The Oswego East High School Battle of the Bands show Saturday showcased 10 bands in all, two from District 204—Bonito Evo! of Neuqua Valley High School, and Emoticon from Metea Valley High School.  Emoticon took third place on the night and won a five-hour recording session at Gremlen Recording Studio in Chicago.  Each band submitted a demo recording and printed lyrics to get into the show.  Entry was free, but each band had to earn their way on stage by selling 30 tickets for the show. Each band played a 10-minute set, which was scored by judges.
