Drew Peterson was a veteran Bolingbrook police sergeant and in the midst of a tumultuous divorce from his third wife, Kathleen Savio, when she turned up drowned in a dry bathtub in March 2004. The Illinois State Police and a Will County Coroner's jury determined Savio died accidentally and closed her case until Peterson's next wife, Stacy Peterson, mysteriously vanished in October 2007. Drew Peterson was charged with murdering Savio in May 2009. Stacy remains missing and the state police believe Drew Peterson had a hand in her disappearance, but have yet to charge him with harming her.

Prisoners like Peterson often forfeit all their civil liberties like privacy. The letters he wrote to his new young sweetheart may have been read much like a prisoner's phone calls may be monitored and perhaps the reason is to protect his correspondents. In this case he's 30 years older than this young woman so reading his mail would give prosecutors some insight about his plans and whether or not he plans on seeing this young woman if he's acquited. In reading his words, there are several clues into his character and his need for control, common among abusers. He wants to be the sun in her universe and more important to her than anyone or anything else so one can see why he'd choose younger and naive women who are more easily manipulated and controlled. I hope this young woman's family can keep her away from him. I think he's a sociopath who lacks compassion for other people or any feeling of remorse for what's happened to two of his ex-wives. In his mind, they "deserve" whatever happened to them for not pleasing him and perhaps may have been acting too independent. His last wife warned her family that he was going to kill her and that if she disappeared he would be responsible. He also told her no one would ever find her body (and they haven't). I hope prosecutors are successful in the their case against him with so little evidence. Why are young women so native and so trusting?

I feel sorry for this man he is not getting a fair trial .any man women or child can see this i just hope like hell our justice system allows itself to really be counted on in times like this. No matter if u think hes guilty or not he has rights an im ashamed i lived in this state hell even casey anthony got a fair trial.Anyway u look at it hes gonna beat this case Bee it at his exspense or all off illinois exspense, u choose ,do u really want him sitting there collecting far more money in a few years then most of us will see in a life time? she drowned in a dry bath tub speaks for our justice system an the police,hell drew peterson speaks for our police units an there mantality,really free this smart man he beat the case. never to be able to be tried again do to jim glaskows over zealousness to get relected all on ur dime if he is convicted this go around the judge has litteraly allowed a circus ,an bet that dumb sob retires when hes done for the simple fact hes trying to make a fairytale trial happen in his court room ,LMFAO i feel bad for drew looks like that mat an steel bed has worn on the man hell hes elgible to sue this state for millions already, so if an when they try him for stacey we will end up paying every cent ,not only did he out smart the system he did one hell of a job even if he sits 10 years who won? accident an disapearing women damm hesmore inteligent then most of u people ,keep ur head up drew u have a open an shut case ,
