The Naperville Fire Department protects roughly 157,000 people within Naperville and unincorporated Naperville. The department has 10 stations, the most recent opening on Jan. 31, 2010. The department offers citizen fire academies in the spring and fall. Also, the department has partnered with Edward Hospital to provide CPR and AED training for the public. Classes will be held monthly. First aid classes are taught at schools and are also offered for babysitters. A public safety open house is held at Fire Station 7 the first weekend in October to coincide with Fire Prevention Week.
