Matcha Tea

Looking for a new tea? Learn about the benefits Matcha tea.

What is Matcha powder tea? Matcha tea is unique to Japan and is celebrated in the traditional Japanese Tea ceremony. (video for the tea ceremony)  Matcha comes in a powder form as opposed other types of green loose-leaf teas. Once it is dried, it is ground between two granite plates and turned into a fine powder.

Matcha is still a caffeinated tea. Unlike most teas, Matcha leaves are consumed, which give a more prolonged effect of steady alertness from the caffeine. Other benefits include an increase in dietary fiber and a detoxifying affect. Matcha is grown in the shade which produces a higher level of chlorophyll, which can help clear the body of heavy metals and harmful chemicals.

Matcha also contains 61mg of EGCg per serving which is an antioxidant that can help many disorders or diseases including cancer. This makes Matcha a great addition to a daily health regimen.
