Monumental Exhibit Coming to DuPage Children's Museum

Where: 
DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington St.
When: Saturday, Nov. 16 -  9 a.m.

Investigate epic feats of engineering, explore colossal cultures of the past, and discover magnificent masterpieces! In DCM’s newest exhibit, Monumental, children will examine extraordinary features of Greek and Mayan architecture as they play and learn in entirely new ways! Recreate the famous pyramids at Chichen Itza using building blocks and stones or construct your very own version of the Acropolis. Using interactive components, children can place themselves among mythological icons of ancient times or use costumes and props for exciting dramatic play. Children will also develop a greater understanding of the power of light and shadow on architecture and explore concepts of scale and proportion as they compare their own foot to that of a six foot replica of Athena’s foot! Don’t miss this spectacular new addition to the Creativity Connections Neighborhood!

Aurora Chamber Small Business Showcase and Symposium

Fox Valley Country Club, 2500 N. Route 25, North Aurora
When: Friday, November 15 -  9 a.m.

As part of #SmallBizAurora, Aurora’s Small Business Week presented by Rasmussen College and OnLight Aurora, the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Small Business Showcase featuring local businesses from around the area with symposium topics presented throughout the day. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
