'Float Your Boat for a Cause' Comes to Centennial Beach This Weekend

Submitted by the Naperville Park District

Centennial Beach patrons will be treated to some unique entertainment while local charities benefit from good-natured rivalry between radio personalities at the first annual “Float Your Boat for a Cause” on Sunday afternoon, July 27.

Disc jockeys from 95.9 The River each will choose a charity, construct a cardboard “boat,” and race their boat to win advertising funds for their charity.

The event will kick off at 12:15 p.m. with opening announcements and introduction of jocks and their charities. In addition to the boat race, jocks will participate in other contests, including a limbo contest with representatives from each charity and a hula hoop contest. Preceding the race, Beach-goers can vote for their favorite cardboard boat.
