Naperville’s Millennium Carillon once again will mark the solemn occasion of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the bells will toll during the morning at the following times of impact:

8:46 a.m. for Tower One of the World Trade Center

9:03 a.m. for Tower Two of the World Trade Center

9:37 a.m. for the Pentagon

10:03 a.m. for Shanksville, PA

Additionally, the bells will ring from 5:30 until 5:45 p.m. as a prelude to the 6 p.m. remembrance ceremony at the Comdr. Dan Shanower Memorial at the City’s Municipal Center. Wheaton Christian Grammar School Assistant Principal and School Counselor Roger Burgess will be the featured speaker. Burgess was United Airlines Flight 93 passenger Todd Beamer's teacher and soccer and basketball coach. Beamer was one of the passengers who attempted to foil the hijacking of the plane by terrorists and reclaim the aircraft, which ultimately crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pa.

Food Network's Giada De Laurentiis Book Signing

The Food Network star is set to visit North Central College to sign copies of her latest children's books Recipe for Adventure: Naples and Recipe for Adventure: Paris. Locals can get a copy of their book signed by De Laurentiis at North Central College's Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., on Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
