Chelsea Wang: Warming Hearts With Music

Along with her ensemble, Chelsea Wang helps fill the halls of Manor Care Health Services with her musical performances.

With a smile on her face and a musical instrument in her hand, Chelsea Wang is always brightening a patients day at Manor Care Health Services.

Even though she just started volunteering this spring, she has already dedicated over 15 hours in musical performance at the center with her ensemble group of four members called Vivace Ensemble. The group plays stringed instruments, flute and the piano for large groups or room-to-room concerts for patients at Manor Care.

On behalf of Manor Care, Director of Recreational Therapy Jennifer Haubrich-Giannini nominated Chelsea for a Naperville Youth Service Award.

Chelsea provides the center with a sense of community and provides patients with beautiful musical performances. Chelsea's mission statement for the musical ensemble is “To contribute to the community by performing musical pieces in an ensemble setting for audiences."

Along with performing music, she also spends additional time with setting up the group, scheduling and practicing. By bringing her musical talent and spirit of volunteerism to patients, Chelsea and her ensemble have become part of the Manor Care community.
