Adopt Me! Blair, Buddy, Honey and Sushi

These are just a few of the adoptable pets waiting for homes at area animal shelters.

Blair is a 9-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix.  She has a lot of energy and loves to play with toys.  She tends to bond quickly with people so she wouldn't do well home alone for long periods of time.  She's looking for someone caring who will spoil her with lots of love and affection.  She can't live with cats but is good with some dogs and children at least 5 years old.  She melts the hearts of all who meet her!

Buddy is an 8-year-old male cat with striking gray fur and green eyes.  He would do best in a home without other pets and with children who are a little older and cat-savvy.  He's very sweet and affectionate but also prefers his alone time.  He would make a great cat for someone who's looking for a companion who's a little on the independent side.

More dogs and cats are available at the . All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped. They are spayed or neutered at adoption. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Visit at 1620 W. Diehl Rd. in Naperville or online at www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Sushi has been at since Feb. 2011 and is 2 years old. She is just a little ball of fire waiting for her forever home and she does love a friendly pet and a loving companion!  She enjoys getting her much deserved attention but will let you know when she needs a break.  She simply loves chasing any moving object across the floor!

Honey is a 2 1/2-year-old coonhound mix.  She is a sweet well-tempered dog who adores affection from people.  Honey enjoys playing outside, but is also content with just lying in the grass.  She’s a bit of a puller for when it comes to the beginning of a walk, but then settles down after a few minutes. Honey is good with children and other dogs.
