Adopt Me! Astro, Kideo, Olive, Peaches and Marmalade

These are just a few of the adoptable dogs and cats waiting for homes at area animal shelters.

Kideo is a brown/black domestic short hair that is 4-1/2 years old and has been at since of April of 2011. He is another one of our big boys who loves to perform Karate bouts with his friend, Elmer. He is also a laid back gent who loves pets and head bumps. Come visit Karate Kideo and watch one of his bouts — bring your own popcorn.

Olive and Omar are five-month old Labrador retriever mix puppies. They and their littermates came to came to A.D.O.P.T. as a rescue transfer from Indiana animal control. Olive and Omar are the last siblings to be adopted from the litter.  They are quiet, but playful. They are very sweet and are looking for good homes. Like every puppy, they will need to go to obedience school to learn commands.

For more information about any of the cats and dogs we have available for adoption, please contact A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter at 630-355-2299.  The shelter is a no-kill, nonprofit, animal shelter at 420 Industrial Drive, Waterville.  Visit us at www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Astro is a six-month-old kitten who has been waiting for a home here at since he was two months old.  Originally found as a stray in Aurora, this little kitten absolutely loves people.  He’d much rather curl up in your lap, or keep you company during your daily routine then play with toys.  Astro is just one of many juvenile cats participating in NAHS’ “Spring the Juvies” promotion.  Any kitten five months to one-year-old can be “sprung” for only $75.  Adopters can spring a second juvie for an additional $5!  It’s a great chance to take home a loving, playful younger cat so stop by to meet Astro and the other juvies soon!

Peaches and Marmalade are three-month-old female Australian cattle dog mixes who are sure to capture your heart!  They’re cute, cuddly and a little bit mischievous!  Since they are busy little puppies they’re looking for a family with lots of time and energy to train them how to be great family companions.  Peaches and Marmalade are siblings, but they don’t need to go home together.  Both would do great with kids five years old or older and they wouldn’t mind living with other dogs or dog savvy cats.  Please come and meet these cuties today!

More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society. All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped. They are spayed or neutered at adoption. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Visit at 1620 W. Diehl Rd. in Naperville or online at www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.
