Goo Goo Dolls Rock Naperville Last Fling 2013

See the full set list and read some Johnny Rzeznik quotes in our recap of the Goo Goo Dolls Aug. 31 concert at Last Fling.

The Goo Goo Dolls know how to have one "Last Fling" in style.

Residents from Naperville and across the Chicago area packed Rotary Hill Saturday to take in the Dolls' headlining set at the Naperville Jaycees 2013 Last Fling.

Frontman Johnny Rzeznik and company were in strong form, giving Naperville a 22-song show over 90 minutes. They ran through hits from all over their catalog, including new cuts from their latest album Magnetic and older singles like SlideLet Love In and Black Balloon.

When Rzeznik introduced Name, the 1995 song that broke Goo Goo Dolls into the mainstream, he pointed out a 12-year-old in front of stage right.

"This song can buy cigarettes and you can't," Rzeznik joked.

They name-dropped Naperville several times to show their love for the crowd. The fans returned the favor, turning the Hill into a big sing-along choir during their biggest hit Iris.

"I hope this is not our Last Fling together," Rzeznik said after singing the song Broadway before their two-song encore.

Something tells me it won't be.
