Naperville Park District to host free concert June 19 at noon on the Riverwalk

The Naperville Park District's 2012 Lunch-Hour Entertainment series begins Tuesday, June 19 with a free concert on the Riverwalk featuring Scribble Monster.

Parents looking for fun things to do with their children this summer can add to their calendars a series of free events on Tuesdays. Beginning June 19, the Naperville Park District will host six Children’s Lunch-Hour Entertainment shows, alternating between north and south locations.

Scribble Monster & His Pals will kick off the series at the Riverwalk near the Jaycees Playground at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 19. This is a fun, interactive and high-energy performance blending traditional children’s music with improvisational comedy. Parents and kids are encouraged to pack a lunch, bring a blanket and sunglasses, and enjoy the performance and the summer weather. Those who come early will be able to see a special performance at 11:30 a.m. by the Élan Dance Company.

The 2012 Children’s Lunch-Hour Entertainment series will include music, interactive games, comedy, and more. All shows begin at noon (with the exception of the June 19 and July 17 performances, which start at 11:30 a.m. with a pre-show by the Élan Dance Company) and last approximately 45 minutes. Three shows are located at the Riverwalk and three will take place on the east side of Frontier Sports Complex at 3415 Book Road.

These free events are made possible through sponsorships by Kidsnips and Lloyd Agencies. The summer line-up is as follows:
• June 19 – Scribble Monster (Riverwalk) with pre-show at 11:30 a.m. by the
   Élan Dance Company
• June 26 – Steve Beno (Frontier Sports Complex)
