AURORA, Ill. – To help empower women throughout the area, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Aurora, will host a free Women’s Self-Defense Seminar with Mutual Ground on Saturday, October 12 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Eagle Academy of Martial Arts, located at 881 Shoreline Drive in Aurora.
Master Mary Treacy-Jansa, owner of Eagle Academy of Martial Arts, will lead the instruction, which will focus on the fundamentals of self-defense for women of all ages and skill levels. Attendees should RSVP by Friday, October 11 and dress comfortably for the interactive session.
Kifowit represents the 84th District, which includes Aurora, Boulder Hill, Montgomery, Naperville, and Oswego. The event is free and open to the public.
