North Central Women's Lacrosse Honored for Academic Success

Women's lacrosse team one of 61 NCAA Division III teams to be recently designated as an Academic Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association

The women's lacrosse team has been recognized for its outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2012 season, as it was one of 61 NCAA Division III teams to be recently designated as an Academic Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

To qualify for the designation, teams are required to maintain a team grade-point average of at least 3.0 during the season.The Cardinals have now made the list in each of their first four years of intercollegiate competition.

North Central is the only institution which competed in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) last season which qualified to be so honored. Augustana College, which also made the list, joins the MWLC next season.

The Cardinals finished the 2012 campaign with an overall record of 7-10, including a 5-2 finish in MWLC play which qualified them for the MWLC Tournament for the second straight year.
