From North Central College
North Central College junior women's lacrosse player Danielle Fiala (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) established a pair of scoring records for the Cardinals' young program on Saturday, leading the way to a 19-3 victory over Fontbonne University in St. Louis.
Fiala scored a game-high six goals in the contest, giving her 45 on the season to establish a new North Central record. The previous record was set by teammate Amy Frazzini (Sr., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) in 2010.
Fiala now has 103 goals in her career, establishing another record and making her the first player in the program's history to score 100 career goals. The Cardinals have competed at the varsity level in women's lacrosse for the past four seasons.
North Central is 6-7 overall and 4-1 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) this season and has clinched its second straight berth in the MWLC Tournament, which will be played May 4-5 at the site of the regular-season champion. The Cardinals wrap up their home schedule on Wednesday, hosting Augustana College at 7 p.m.
