The Naperville Municipal Band's summer concert series will feature a concert every Thursday evening at the Community Concert Center in Naperville’s Central Park.
At each concert, the first 1,000 audience members to arrive will receive a chance to win one of four $25 gift certificates from various vendors.
The June 14 concert, "René’s Back in Town,” will feature assistant conductor René Rosas.
The June 21 concert, “Around the World in 80 Minutes,” will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts of America and will feature the Children's Parade, and will allow families to march around Central Park.
The June 28 concert will be “Sounds from Central Park."
The Independence Day Concert, to be held July 5, "God Bless America," will feature the 1812 Overture, Civil War cannons and reenactors.
The July 12 concert, "Old Timer's Night," will feature the NMB Alumni Band and special guest conductor James Christensen.
The July 19 cocnert, "Naperville Big Band Night," will feature the NMB Big Jazz Band.
The July 26 concert will feature“René’s Favorites.”
The Aug. 2 concert will feature "Ron's Favorites."
The Aug. 9 concert, the final concert of the series, will feature "So Long For a While," with guest cornet soloist MGSY Susan Rider.
Each concert will also feature an ice cream social, sponsored by a local not-for-profit.
