Hard-Water Classic Ice-Fishing Tournament

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County's Hard-Water Classic Ice-Fishing Tournament will take place at Blackwell Forest Preserve.

This all-ages event will take place on Silver Lake.

Awards will be presented for the longest three catches in bass, bluegill and crappie categories and for the overall longest fish caught during the tournament.

All registrants will be entered into a raffle for ice-fishing gear.

Participants must comply with all applicable fishing regulations, including those requiring all anglers ages 16 and older who are not legally disabled to have valid Illinois fishing licenses in their possession.

Advance registration is $15 per person online. Day-of registration will be $20.

Participant check in will take place from 11 to 11:45 a.m.

In the event of unsafe ice conditions on Jan. 7, the tournament will be rescheduled to Feb. 11.

 Proceeds will support Forest Preserve District education programs that provide outdoor experiences for special-needs groups, Scouts and community-resource centers in DuPage County.
