VIDEO: Second Naperville Teacher Awarded Golden Apple

Naper Elementary School first-grade teacher Pam Kelly gets surprise visit from friends, staff and the Golden Apple Foundation on Thursday.

For the second day in a row, a Naperville teacher was announced as a Golden Apple Foundation award-winner for Excellence in Teaching. 

Earlier: 

first-grade teacher Pam Kelly danced, sang, hugged and cried alongside her equally excited students Thursday afternoon after staff surprised her with the announcement.

Kelly's family members were also in attendance for the celebration. She now joins Highlands Elementary School second-grade teacher Kathy Burns, who was awarded yesterday, as the second teacher in Naperville to be awarded a 2012 Golden Apple. 

The Golden Apple Awards from the Hyatt McCormick Place in Chicago will be broadcast on Chicago’s WTTW in October.
