senior women's lacrosse player Shannon Prince (South Elgin, Ill./Montini Catholic) has been honored by the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) as its Defensive Player of the Week for Mar. 26-Apr. 1.

Prince, the first Cardinal to be so honored this season, was recognized on the strength of her performance in North Central's two games last week against Oberlin College and the University of Puget Sound. She finished with eight ground balls and six caused turnovers during the week, including six ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 18-11 win over Puget Sound on Sunday. Her five caused turnovers against the Loggers were one shy of the single-game school record.

A Second Team All-MWLC selection in 2011, Prince has started all 47 of the Cardinals' games since the program's inception in 2009.
