Clayt Grosshuesch, also known as "Spike," is wrapping up his 38-year tenure with Indian Prairie School District 204 where he served as a math teacher and guidance counselor—and a student favorite in both roles—and also as one of Waubonsie's most successful basketball coaches, according to the Daily Herald
Spike also coached championship boys golf teams at Waubonsie Valley and Neuqua Valley and became the "Voice of the Wildcats" as an announcer for football and basketball games, according to the article.
Spike, who started at Waubonsie Valley in 1976 and helped open Neuqua Valley in 1977, will be retiring soon and cleaning out his desk following the May 25th graduation ceremony, according to the Daily Herald.
