Through a DuPage County State's Attorney's Office press release, family members announced Friday they have established the Shaun Wild Memorial Scholarship.
"During his time, Shaun dedicated his life to helping others in the pursuit of personal development and communal excellence—through his devotion to academic and athletic excellence," the family said in the news release. "The Wild family and friends will continue Shaun's vision and feed his passion by inspiring future generations of student athletes, awarding a scholarship in Shaun's name."
Contributions should be sent to the following address:
Brown Deer High School
Attn: Shaun Wild Memorial Scholarship
8060 N. 60th St.
Brown Deer, WI 53223
"Shaun was a constant source of positivity, evidenced by his determination and focus; sprinkle with the perfect amount of silliness. Everyone who knew Shaun will miss him dearly," the family said in their statement. "… As we all celebrate Shaun's life, we humbly ask for your support in sharing Shaun's legacy."
After a court date Friday morning, Olaska will appear before Judge Kathryn Creswell again March 2. Defense attorneys were given time to process additional video and photo evidence they received this week.
Wild's funeral services were held last week in his hometown of Brown Deer, WI. Before his death, Wild was living in Lisle.
