YPN Professional Development Series – Gary Ernst talks Leadership Theory

Join us for the YPN Professional Development Series Friday, Jan. 13. Special guest Gary Ernst will be speaking on leadership theory and leadership models.

Gary is a professor of international business and marketing emeritus at North Central College. He was named the first Coleman Foundation Professor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business at NCC in 1999.

Ernst earned both a bachelor’s degree in marketing and master’s degree in marketing communications from Roosevelt University in Chicago and a doctorate in business education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. A member of the faculty since 1986, he founded the college’s Entrepreneurship Institute, helped establish an undergraduate entrepreneurship major, and founded the campus chapter of Students in Free Enterprise. In 2001, he also helped create the annual Self-Employment in the Arts conference, which helps teach aspiring artists how to make a living and career in the arts.

The Coleman Foundation Professor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business chair is endowed by the Coleman Foundation, established by entrepreneurs Dorothy W. and J.D. Stetson Coleman, to encourage self-sufficiency and self-employment through entrepreneurship education.

The meeting will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Chamber Conference Room A.
