National Geographic Expert Gives Free Talk on Snake Venom
Professorand National Geographic expert Zoltan Takacs has eluded pirates, dodged stampeding elephants and has been sprayed with venom by a spitting cobra in his efforts to collect snake venom.
His travels have taken him to 134 different countries in search of venom that he then studies for medicinal purposes.
Takacs is a professor of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. His presentation is titled, “Biodiversity is Good for Your Health: Exploring the World’s Most Toxic Yet Lifesaving Creatures.”
His work has been featured on the National Geographic Channel and PBS in several science and natural history documentaries.
