On this daylong bus excursion, Cathy Maloney, local author, historian and senior editor of Chicagoland Gardening magazine, will take us on a tour of historic gardens in Oak Park and Riverside. We’ll discuss the extensive history of gardening in the Chicago area and look at some historic gems including the Oak Park Conservatory, Cheney Mansion, and the Gardener’s Cottage at the Coonley estate.
