Tougher Regulations Approved for Naperville Pawnshops

The updated ordinance was drafted following a string of home burglaries last summer, according to the Daily Herald.

Following a rash of home burglaries last year in Naperville, pawnshops will now have to photograph jewelry and log it in an online database to help local police better track down stolen items, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Naperville City Council on Tuesday approved the new regulations, which were requested by Councilman Steve Chirico last September, during Tuesday's meeting.
